If you haven’t started planning for 2022 yet, now is the perfect time.

Most of us (at least in the eastern Australian states) are overwhelmed by the year that has been 2021.  It feels like we are limping towards the finish line of the festive season.

So why should you bother to plan your new year now, rather than wait until December and January?  Well, glad you asked ????

Conscious planning requires a number of steps which are easier when broken down and spaced out.  The last thing you want to do is to overload your overwhelm.

Reflection produces perspective, leverages learning and instills insight.  It’s the stuff wisdom is made of, which I’m sure you’ll agree, is much needed right now.

Self-reflection is a critical leadership tool, not just for your own personal and professional development, but to positively grow your team and your leadership impact.

Here’s a quick tool to get you started.

Thinking about your team in 2021:

  1. List the strengths that you demonstrated
  2. Which of these strengths would be useful for you to carry forward, as a team, to 2022?
  3. What did your team create?
  4. What did your team conserve?
  5. What did your team change?
  6. What did you learn?

The next step to make 2022 your best leadership year ever is your vision.  Stay tuned for the next instalment in my December Newsletter.
